Big Day for Young as Red Wings Down Dairy Daddies, 9-4
|
Rochester right fielder Randel Young had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 9-4 win over the Danville Dairy Daddies. Reliever Shawn Barton picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Oswaldo Peraza took the loss. Jim Pena, credited with the save, is now 4 for 4 in save opportunities.
It could have been a different outcome for Rochester, had it not been for Johnny Damon, the 21-year old center fielder . Damon contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Rochester up, 2-0.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Damon told the Rochester Times.
Even with the win, the Red Wings have a dismal 8-64 record.
