Suns Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bisons
|
The Jacksonville Suns defeated the Buffalo Bisons, 4-3, at Aspinwall Grounds. Jacksonville first baseman Brian Lesher was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Mark Dewey was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 16 save opportunities. The Suns bumped their record to 41-35 with this latest triumph.
Momentum swung to the Suns in the top of the eighth, when Lesher, who is tied for 9th in the ATL in extra base hits with 34, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Suns into the lead, 4-3.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Lesher told reporters after the game.
