Swamp Foxes Fall Short, 7-6, at Columbus
Behind a solid performance from right fielder Derrick May, the Columbus Clippers defeated the Savannah Swamp Foxes, 7-6. May went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Clippers. Dennis Konuszewski got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Columbus is now riding a 4-game win streak.

The Clippers took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Facing Savannah hurler Ariel Prieto with two outs, May hit a 2-run home run.
