The Hartford Whalers picked up a win at Wolves Ballpark, knocking off the Ocean City Blue Crabs, 5-3. On the mound for Hartford was right-hander Bobby Chouinard, who played a pivotal role in the win. Cory Lidle earned his 28th save in 31 chances. Hartford has an impressive 63-26 record.

Also making an impact was catcher Mike Matheny, who drilled a 2-run home run in the bottom of the second inning for the Whalers. For the game, Matheny was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Matheny. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
