Beasties Fall to .500 After Loss to Bisons
|
Behind a solid performance from catcher Tim Spehr, the Buffalo Bisons defeated the Bluff City Beasties, 8-5. Spehr was 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks for the Bisons. The Bisons have an impressive 55-33 record.
Had Jay Canizaro not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Canizaro hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 8-5, in favor of the Bisons.
"I felt good up there," said Canizaro. "I saw the ball well."
