Asheville pitcher Steve Karsay did his part in helping his team beat the Rochester Red Wings, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The last-place Red Wings have lost 9 straight games.

Asheville took a 3-1 lead on Yamil Benitez's 14th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Rochester pitcher Matt Grott in the top of the eighth.

"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Rochester manager . "Obviously."
