Red Wings Solve Slammers, 6-4
|
Red Wings first baseman Matt Franco put his stamp on his team's 6-4 win over the Southeast Slammers. Franco was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Rochester in the contest. Rochester reliever Terrell Wade picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Rob Woodward took the loss. The Red Wings go to 12-83, putting them last in the Atlantic Northeast.
In the bottom of the seventh, Derek Hines had a big bases-clearing double off Rob Woodward. With the double, the Rochester designated hitter put his team in front, 6-4. He was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs in the contest.
"We'll savor this win," Franco told the Rochester Times, "then get ready for the next game."
