Bisons Beat Visiting Otters, 7-6
|
Milwaukee center fielder Oddibe McDowell had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 7-6, to Buffalo at Aspinwall Grounds. McDowell was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 4 RBI. Buffalo reliever Bob W. Malloy picked up the win, upping his record to 8-1. Dan Miceli took the loss. Tim Fortugno got the save, his 20th in 24 chances.
David Howard drove in one run for Buffalo. The 30-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Dan Miceli. It was his 46th RBI of the season.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Howard. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Bisons bumped their record to 58-41 with this latest triumph.
