Cyclones Win at Rochester, 8-3
|
The Brooklyn Cyclones knocked off the Rochester Red Wings, 8-3, at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale. Phil Nevin, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Brooklyn won. The catcher went 2-5 with 2 home runs. The last-place Red Wings have lost 5 consecutive games.
Mike Marshall gave Brooklyn a good at-bat in the top of the fourth inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single to help send Brooklyn to the win.
In postgame comments to the Brooklyn Bulletin, Marshall said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
