Bisons Score Late to Upend Red Wings, 5-2
|
The Bisons had to overcome a good performance from Rochester pitcher Brian Keyser to claim a 5-2 win at Ballpark of Ft. Lauderdale. Keyser went 5.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Buffalo reliever Chris Peters picked up the win, upping his record to 6-3. Tim Scott was saddled with the loss. The Bisons, at 62-42, sit in second place in the Atlantic Northeast.
Buffalo used the bat of Kevin Young to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bisons ahead, 5-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Young said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
