Swamp Foxes Win at Rochester, 7-5
|
The Savannah Swamp Foxes topped the Rochester Red Wings by the score of 7-5, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Orlando Palmeiro. Palmeiro was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Swamp Foxes. Ariel Prieto got credit for the win, improving to 5-6. He allowed 5 runs on 11 hits in 8 innings. Ron Rightnowar saved it for Savannah.
Ramon Caraballo, who is tied for 8th in the ATL in stolen bases with 10, aided the Savannah cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the second. For the game, the second baseman was 3 for 5 with 3 singles.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Palmeiro told reporters after the game.
At 52-65, the Swamp Foxes are currently 5th in the Atlantic Southeast.
