The Rochester Red Wings defeated the Asheville Moonshiners, 6-5, in Atlantic action at Torrance Grounds, with Rochester right fielder Randel Young named player of the game. Rochester reliever Shawn Barton picked up the win to move to 4-1. Salomon Torres suffered the loss. Even with the win, the Red Wings have a dismal 18-102 record.

Momentum swung to the Red Wings in the top of the seventh, when Young hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Red Wings into the lead, 6-5.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Young told the Rochester Times.
