Big Day for Rayford as Dairy Daddies Down Cyclones, 10-4
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Floyd Rayford, the Danville Dairy Daddies defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones, 10-4. Rayford went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Dairy Daddies. Ron Mahay got credit for the win, improving to 12-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. Andrew Lorraine got the save, his 4th in 5 chances.
Rayford in the bottom of the fifth had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Dairy Daddies trailing 4-3, he grounded out, driving in 1 run.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Rayford, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The win boosts the Dairy Daddies to 61-59. The loss puts the Cyclones at 43-77.
