Lazy Fisherman Clip Storm Chasers, 5-4
|
Omaha got a terrific game from third baseman Hensley Meulens. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Naperville, 5-4. Meulens was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Charles Nagy, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 2 runs on 7 hits in 5.2 innings. Blas Minor earned his 2nd save in 2 tries.
Naperville took a 5-3 lead on Gary Disarcina's 1st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Disarcina hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Omaha pitcher Roberto Duran shaking his head.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Disarcina told reporters after the game.
With the loss, Omaha is 2-3.
