River Rats Roll to 8-1 Win Over Lazy Fisherman
|
Spokane played host to Naperville at the friendly confines of Foxes Ballpark.
Spokane River Rats starter Rick Helling had all his pitches working at Foxes Ballpark. His stellar performance paved the way for an easy 8-1 Spokane win over the Naperville Lazy Fisherman. Helling picked up the win for Spokane, going 8.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-0.
The River Rats got an important contribution from right fielder Gene Kingsale, who in the bottom of the third knocked a 0-1 sinker into right-center for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the River Rats ahead, 4-0.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Kingsale.
The River Rats, now 6-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
