The Colorado Rockies sent the home crowd home smiling from Mile High Stadium.

Colorado Rockies starter Curt Schilling pitched effectively against the Detroit Tigers at Mile High Stadium. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 5-4 win. The win was credited to Joey Eischen in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Mike Perez took the loss.

In the bottom of the ninth inning with one out, Colorado center fielder Cecil Espy hit a sacrifice fly. It made the score 5-4, Rockies. For the day, Espy was 1-4.

"This place was electric at the end," Espy said.

The Tigers fall to 7-13 and continue their lackluster start in 1995.
