Brogna Stars for Express in 10-4 Win
The Round Rock Express knocked off the Portland Stag, 10-4, at Alleycats Ballpark. Rico Brogna, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Round Rock won. The first baseman was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Scott Brown, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. The Stag, now 6-11, continue their poor start.

The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Les Norman came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Portland pitcher Dilson Torres, he hit a first pitch curveball for a 2-run triple. It was a game-changer, putting Round Rock on top, 6-4.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Brogna.
