Stag Beat Visiting Storm Chasers, 8-4
|
Portland right-hander Omar Olivares pitched his team to victory over the Omaha Storm Chasers at Tuttle Fields. The final score was 8-4. The Storm Chasers, now 6-16, continue their poor start.
Alex S Gonzalez had a big 2-run double for the Stag in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Portland leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Mark Leiter and stroked the double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stag ahead, 5-2.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager said.
