Rainiers Prove Rude Guests, Win 6-3 at Tucson
|
The Tacoma Rainiers handed the Tucson Tarantulas a loss at Ballpark of Louisville. The final score was 6-3. Eric Young was named player of the game for Tacoma. In addition to his 3 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. Shawn Boskie, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held Tucson to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 7 strikeouts. Brian Boehringer earned the save for Tacoma, his 4th.
Young had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Rainiers went on to win.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Tacoma manager .
No one expected much of this team but the hot start by Tacoma might have some re-evaluating their pre-season predictions. The win today pushes their record to 15-7.
