Rainiers Win at Tucson, 4-3
|
The Tacoma Rainiers faced a tough opponent in Tucson pitcher James Baldwin, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Ballpark of Louisville by a final score of 4-3. Baldwin went 9 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Tacoma reliever Jeff Ware picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. James Baldwin was saddled with the loss. The Rainiers, now 16-7, have been on a roll in the early going.
Tacoma used the bat of Russ Davis to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rainiers ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"I like our moxie," said Rainiers manager .
