Chamberlain Helps Portland Outscore Salt Lake City
|
The Portland Stag downed the Salt Lake City Buzz, 11-10, at Bella Vista Grounds. Wes Chamberlain led the way, going 3-for-5 for Portland. Portland has run its win streak to 6 in a row.
The result might have been different for Portland, had it not been for Milt Thompson. The center fielder produced a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Stag ahead, 3-1. For the game, Thompson had 1 double and 3 singles in 6 at-bats.
"Crazy game," said Thompson after it ended.
