Rainiers Come Up Short at New Orleans
|
In a high-scoring contest between New Orleans and Tacoma, left fielder Steve Gibralter was a difference-maker. Gibralter earned player of the game honors in the 9-8 New Orleans win. He went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. The Brass keep rolling, raising their record to 17-7.
Gibralter had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Tanyon Sturtze, he banged a run-scoring double to right-center, giving the Brass a 9-8 lead. It was the 5th double of the year for Gibralter.
"Enjoyed this one," Gibralter told the New Orleans Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
