Goodwin Helps Brass Run Win Streak to 3
|
A 5-RBI performance from the speedster Tom Goodwin helped the New Orleans Brass beat the Tacoma Rainiers, 11-5. New Orleans starter Paul Wagner was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 3-0. Jimmy Jones got the save, the 2nd for him this season.
Goodwin came through with some timely hitting for New Orleans. With the score 2-1 in the bottom of the second and two down, Goodwin hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run triple. His 2nd triple of the season made it 4-1, New Orleans.
"I had some good swings out there," said Goodwin.
The Brass have an impressive 18-7 record.
