Stag Top Tarantulas Behind Olivares, 5-1
|
The Portland Stag got a strong performance from pitcher Omar Olivares, who stymied the Tucson offense en route to a 5-1 win at Tuttle Fields. The Stag bumped their record to 14-13 with this latest triumph.
Olivares, a native of Puerto Rico, was dealing all game. He kept Tucson hitters off-balance, while giving the Stag 9 quality innings. Olivares threw 123 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 10.
"I expect to pitch a complete game every time out," said Olivares.
