Victory Pushes Stag Record to 18-14
The Portland Stag downed the San Antonio Missions, 7-6, at Texans Stadium. The Stag were led by Milt Thompson, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Chuck Ricci earned the save for Portland, his 6th of the year. The Stag, now 18-14, know that wins in April count the same as wins in September.

With Portland trailing 5-4 in the top of the seventh, Thompson came up to bat against San Antonio pitcher Mike Dunne. Thompson hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run double. His 13th double of the season put the Stag on top, 6-5.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Thompson said.
