Hammonds hits 2 home runs as Lazy Fisherman Squeeze Past Nashville
|
The Naperville Lazy Fisherman scored a 3-2 win versus the Nashville Sounds at Red Devils Stadium. Naperville left fielder Jeffrey Hammonds nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. The win was credited to Scott Arnold in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Chad Fox took the loss. Getting the save was Blas Minor, his 5th.
Gary Bennett had a nice at-bat for the Lazy Fisherman with no one out in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, the catcher drew a walk, which would prove important in the Naperville win.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Nashville manager .
The Lazy Fisherman, now 12-18, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
