The Portland Stag trumped the Nashville Sounds, 10-8, at Tuttle Fields. Portland shortstop Andujar Cedeno was named player of the game for his performance. He went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Portland reliever Pedro Martinez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Jeff Innis took the loss. Chuck Ricci saved it for Portland.
Cedeno had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-2 fastball from Jeff Innis, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Stag a 9-6 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Cedeno.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager .
Portland now sits in second place in the Pacific West at 26-18.
