Tarantulas Slip Past Naperville, 2-1
|
The Tucson Tarantulas picked up a win at Ballpark of Louisville, knocking off the Naperville Lazy Fisherman, 2-1. Starting pitcher Rick Krivda was an essential part of his team's success. Tucson reliever Tim VanEgmond picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Pete Young shouldered the loss. The 5th-place Lazy Fisherman have dropped 4 straight games.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the 12th, Hanley Frias had a chance to end it. Naperville pitcher Pete Young had other ideas. But with two outs, Frias hit a walk-off run-scoring single. The Tarantulas had the win.
"This joint was rocking," said Krivda.
