Missions Bang Out 9-2 Win Versus Tacoma
|
San Antonio got a strong outing from Les Lancaster as the Missions defeated the Tacoma Rainiers, 9-2, at Premont Grounds. Lancaster picked up the win for San Antonio , going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-1. The third-place Missions have won 4 straight games.
The Missions beat the Rainiers in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out double Rex Hudler produced in the top of the fifth. Batting against Tacoma pitcher Jeff Ware, Hudler gave his team a 3-0 lead when he hit a bases-clearing double.
"I like our mindset right now," said San Antonio manager .
