Missions Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Stag
David Hulse helped his team muscle past the Portland Stag, 8-5. In the game, the San Antonio right fielder went 3-5 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. San Antonio reliever Terry Mulholland picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Kerry Ligtenberg took the loss. The Missions now own a record of 27-22.

San Antonio used the bat of Brooks Kieschnick to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Missions ahead, 6-5. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Hulse told reporters after the game.
