Buzz Score Late, Upend Stag, 4-2
|
Salt Lake City Buzz starter Steve Parris was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Portland Stag, 4-2. The winner was Salt Lake City reliever Paul Spoljaric, now 1-0. The loser was Bryan Rekar. Salt Lake City is now 29-24. Portland is 26-27.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Salt Lake City first baseman Dave Staton, facing Bryan Rekar, had a 2-run home run. It gave the Buzz the 4-2 win.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Parris said.
