The San Antonio Missions dealt the Portland Stag a 8-7 loss at Tuttle Fields. Craig Paquette was the star on offense. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored twice. San Antonio reliever Heathcliff Slocumb picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Chuck Ricci absorbed the loss. Jeff Shaw earned his 11th save in 13 tries.

Paquette came through with some timely hitting for San Antonio . With the score 2-2 in the top of the fifth and two down, Paquette hit a 0-2 fastball for a grand slam home run. His 10th home run of the season made it 6-2, San Antonio .

"We got the victory," said Paquette. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The win puts the Missions at 38-26, while the Stag drop to 40-24.
