Jeff Kunkel helped his team muscle past the Idaho Falls Chukars, 5-2. In the game, the Portland right fielder went 2-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Portland reliever Carlos Castillo picked up the win, bumping his record to 4-0. Eric Nolte was collared with the loss. Idaho Falls now has a 5-game losing streak.

Scott Stahoviak had a productive at-bat for the Stag with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, the first baseman hit a double. The at-bat was important in the Portland win.
