The Portland Stag extended their winning streak at Tuttle Fields.

The Portland Stag beat the New Orleans Brass, 7-3, at Tuttle Fields. Ed Sprague Jr. was recognized as player of the game for his performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The 27-year old first baseman was a menace to New Orleans all day. Portland reliever Rich Batchelor picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Matt Whiteside absorbed the loss.

Wes Chamberlain had a productive at-bat for the Stag with no one out in the bottom of the eighth. With the bases loaded, the left fielder hit a 2-run single. The at-bat was important in the Portland win.

Sprague Jr. attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The first-place Stag have won 9 in a row.
