The Stag grabbed a win, 3-2, at Bay Hawks Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from New Orleans pitcher Brian Holman. Holman went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Kerry Ligtenberg notched his 18th save in 24 chances. The Stag bumped their record to 39-38 with this latest triumph.

Alex S Gonzalez aided the Portland cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the shortstop was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"Exciting game to play in," said Gonzalez. "Getting the win makes it even better."
