Fans who came to Alleycats Ballpark watched the Portland Stag and the Round Rock Express fight to the finish.

Lee Tinsley had a good game, but he could not keep the Round Rock Express from falling, 6-5, to the Portland Stag at Alleycats Ballpark. The Round Rock center fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 in the loss. Dave Burba, the winner, improved to 8-1. He held the Express to 3 earned runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Chuck Ricci earned his 20th save in 21 chances.

Mike Mordecai had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the fifth for Portland. He came through with a 2-run single to put Portland in front, 5-3.

"Enjoyed this one," Mordecai told the Portland Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."

The Stag bumped their record to 53-28 with this latest triumph.
