Stag Prevail, 4-2, Over San Antonio
|
The Stag grabbed a win, 4-2, at Texans Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from San Antonio pitcher Allan Anderson. Anderson went 8 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Kerry Ligtenberg locked down his 20th save. Portland now sits in 5th place in the Pacific West at 43-39.
Portland used the timely hitting of Fernando Tatis to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second inning to put the Stag on top, 4-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I felt good up there," said Tatis. "I saw the ball well."
