Darryl Hamilton made an impact in the 7-5 Portland win over Tucson. Hamilton, the 18th overall pick in the 1987 draft, went 4-4 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. Scott Karl went 7 innings for Portland to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 1 earned run. He scattered 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. His record improves to 6-4. Chuck Ricci converted his 21st save in 22 tries.
