Storm Chasers Win at Portland, 8-2
|
Omaha rode a decent outing from starter Mark Leiter to victory over the Portland Stag at Tuttle Fields. The final score was 8-2. The Storm Chasers now have a record of 37-51.
Javier Valentin, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1996 draft, aided the Omaha cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Valentin told the Omaha Observer.
