The Tuttle Fields faithful were treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
Colorado Springs pitcher Jason Schmidt gave the Stag all they could handle, but in the end, Portland left Tuttle Fields with a 5-4 win. Schmidt allowed no earned runs on 1 hit over 5.2 innings. Portland improves to 58-31 with the win. They lead their division by 8 games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Portland first baseman Ed Sprague Jr., facing Darren Hall, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Stag the 5-4 win.
"I felt good up there," said Sprague Jr.. "I saw the ball well."
