Hubbard Helps Stag Run Win Streak to 3
|
The Portland Stag topped the San Antonio Missions by the score of 12-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Trent Hubbard. Hubbard went 4 for 4 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for the Stag on the day. The winner was Omar Olivares, who threw 115 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 5 runs on 11 hits. Portland goes to 63-34. The win puts them 10 games up in their division.
The Stag got an important contribution from left fielder Jeff Barry, who in the top of the first punched a 0-1 fastball into right for a 2-run single. It was his 57th hit of the season and put the Stag ahead, 2-0.
