Stag Come Back Late to Clip Rainiers

Dion James did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Tacoma Rainiers from losing, 5-4, to the Portland Stag at Tuttle Fields. James went 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles. He scored 3 runs. Portland has now won 3 straight, while the Rainiers have lost 3 in a row.
Had Alex S Gonzalez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Gonzalez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Stag.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Gonzalez told the Portland Bulletin.
