The Cleveland Spiders defeated the Orlando Devil Rays, 10-0, at Orlando Citrus Bowl. Cleveland designated hitter Darryl Strawberry was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Roger Pavlik earned his 2nd save in 4 chances. With the win, Cleveland goes to 68-71, while the Devil Rays fall to 73-67.

In the top of the first, Bernard Gilkey ambushed a first pitch fastball from Eric King and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Cleveland a quick 2-0 lead.
