Barberie Strokes 5 Hits
|
Portland Stag shortstop Bret Barberie really lit up the Nashville Sounds with a 5-hit barrage today at Red Devils Stadium -- a performance that sparked the Stag to a 9-7 triumph.
He shrugged off the performance after the game, saying "sometimes the ball finds outfielders, today the ball found some holes."
Bret Barberie doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, singled in the 8th, hit a two-run single in the 9th, flied out in the 11th, singled in the 14th and singled in the 16th.
Barberie is batting .386 with 1 home runs and 21 RBIs this season.
