Stag Double Up Colorado Springs, 6-3
|
The first-place Portland Stag took on the Colorado Springs Sky Fox at Tuttle Fields.
With right fielder Trent Hubbard leading the charge, the Portland Stag defeated the Colorado Springs Sky Fox, 6-3, at Tuttle Fields. Hubbard was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs. Chuck Ricci got the save, his 29th in 31 chances.
The Stag got a big boost from second baseman Bill Pecota who had a 2-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning off Sky Fox hurler Archie Corbin. It was his 77th hit of the season and put Portland on top, 5-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Pecota. "And not try to do too much."
