With starter Shawn Boskie leading the charge, the Buffalo Bisons defeated the Hartford Whalers, 3-1, in Game 3 of the League Championship Series today. The right-hander threw 8 innings of 7-hit ball at Aspinwall Grounds to help Buffalo take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Boskie, the Buffalo right-hander, went 8 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits. He collected 8 strikeouts.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Boskie.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Buffalo. The scheduled starters for the game are Jimmy Haynes for Hartford and Danny Jackson for Buffalo.
