Whalers Clip Bisons 4-3 in CS Contest
|
The Hartford Whalers topped the Buffalo Bisons by the score of 4-3 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the League Championship Series today. The largest share of the credit went to player of the game and Hartford starter Chris Holt, who threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs in the win.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Alex Ochoa was at the plate when Hartford scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Whalers to go in front, 4-3.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Holt told the Hartford Chronicle.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Jimmy Haynes for Hartford and Danny Jackson for Buffalo.
