Leftwich Handcuffs Sounds, Express Seize 2-1 Advantage in DS
The Round Rock Express moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the visiting Nashville Sounds at Alleycats Ballpark by a score of 7-1. Express right-hander Phil Leftwich was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball. The win gives the Express a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.

Leftwich pitched a complete game for Round Rock. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 4 hits. He struck out 6 during his 122-pitch performance.

"Phil is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Round Rock manager .

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Alleycats Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Pete J. Smith for Nashville and Derek Lilliquist for Round Rock.
