Portland Breaks Through for First Win in Division Series; Now Trails 2-1
Already down in the Division Series, the Portland Stag put on their best show, beating the New Orleans Brass by a final score of 9-8 today. Lloyd Moseby earned player of the game honors, as he went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Portland now trails New Orleans 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.

The result might have been different for Portland, had it not been for Darryl Hamilton. The right fielder produced a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Stag ahead, 2-0. For the game, Hamilton had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I like our moxie," said Stag manager .

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Bay Hawks Ballpark. Slated to start are Dave Burba for the Portland Stag and Brian Holman for the the New Orleans Brass.
