Brass Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 3-1
The New Orleans Brass moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the visiting Portland Stag at Bay Hawks Ballpark by a score of 9-1. Brass left-hander Vaughn Eshelman was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Brass a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.

Eshelman delivered a quality start for New Orleans. The 6' 3" left-hander allowed no runs on 7 hits over 8 innings of work.

Eshelman said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
