The Hartford Whalers and the Buffalo Bisons will take the League Championship Series to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Whalers beat the Bisons 7-2 at Wolves Ballpark to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Hartford center fielder Jason McDonald was named player of the game in the win after he was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.

With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Bobby Bonilla barreled up a fastball from Shawn Boskie. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Whalers in front, 6-2.

"We lost," Buffalo manager said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."

Game 7 is scheduled for tomorrow at Wolves Ballpark. Slated to start are Danny Jackson for Buffalo and Jimmy Haynes for Hartford.
