Sounds Rally Past Bisons to Claim 1-0 Series Lead
The Nashville Sounds powered past the visiting Buffalo Bisons, 8-7, in the opener of the World Series at Red Devils Stadium today. Nashville center fielder Oddibe McDowell was 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4, to lead the charge. The Sounds now lead the series 1-0.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Nashville trailing 7-6, McDowell hit a fastball from Jeff Suppan for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Sounds had a walk-off win.

"Winning is contagious," said McDowell. "We're looking forward to the next game."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow in Nashville. Slated to start are Mac Suzuki for the Buffalo Bisons and Paul Wilson for the the Nashville Sounds.
