Whalers Hammered by Young, Drop Game 7 to Bisons
|
The Buffalo Bisons moved to within one game of the World Series today, downing the Hartford Whalers on the road at Wolves Ballpark by a score of 5-3. Bisons first baseman Kevin Young was named player of the game after he went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win gives the Bisons a 4-3 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.
Young had an important at-bat with the bases empty in the top of the first, when he hit a solo home run. The Bisons went on to win.
"We don't have much margin for error now," Whalers manager said. "We need to figure out the problem and fix it, immediately."
